• Assess and Identify potential hazards in the work area.
• Limit damage to persons or property in the case of an
emergency.

Course outline
By the end of the course, the learner will be able to:
• Partake in HSE committee procedures and practices
• Conduct a HSE Inspection in the workplace
• Report and identify areas where information is required from the employer to support specific workplace inspection needs
• Suggest identified additional training requirements.
• explain:
o The OHS Act, the general purpose and broad content thereof
o Election/Nomination process of the committee
o HSE representative functions and responsibilities
o Compilation, structure, purpose and responsibilities of a HSE committee
o Common causes of incidents in the workplace
o the basic principles of incident prevention
